[update] HAPPY 4TH, fellow yanks.
I have a lot to do, but as usual I'm shopping for excuses to procrastinate.
Literally.
Caution, this is a largely girly matter. Guys should probably turn and run for the hills.

It's all about the Sweet Lolita clothes. I've been an admirer for a few years... it's so beautiful... clean... elegant... adorable... all at once. I can't actually buy anything, but I like to look around. My loli bug wore off for months, but now it's back and worse than ever. I've become such a total sucker for cute stuff...

And you know, it's a total flip-flop from the opinion I had a couple of years ago. I refused to wear skirts and made gagging motions every time my aunt tried to force hand-down skirts on me. I wouldn't even wear long shorts because I felt like they showed too much of my mosquito-eaten legs. (However, we've had an excessive heat advisory in my state for weeks so I gave in. Thought I saw a ghost... my legs haven't seen natural light in years.)

And yet I find myself totally in love with the poofy skirts, the cardigans, the socks, the shoes! Flowers, cupcake prints... lace! *twitch* Even plain pleaded skirts like my persona wears.

I'm feeling rather restricted. The aunt I'm moving in with knows me as the anti-feminine child I was proud to be. I wore a long skirt for Thanksgiving (because I was out of jeans) and they all kind of gasped. So. Like. If she gets wind of my change of heart... I'm really scared to think of it!


I know my male watchers likely outnumber my female ones, but if you're out there, tell me: how do you feel about Lolita styles?
